Iqra University holds session against corruption
Islamabad
Iqra University, Islamabad Campus, Thursday arranged an informative session on National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) slogan ‘Say No to Corruption’, says a press release.
National Accountability Bureau Director General (Awareness and Prevention) Ms Aliya Rashid delivered a motivational speech advocating accountability begins from the home.
Aliya’s new concept involves women, youth and children in which she explained how there is a tendency for family members to unintentionally create pressure for the family bread-winners through their demands for items that become part of developing a luxurious lifestyle.
Aliya cited an example to support her concept “When wives and children demand luxury items, it’s like telling a husband or father on a wheelchair to run a marathon”.
The NAB official also briefed the audience about various initiatives the NAB has taken that have been labeled as the first of its kind at global level. These include spreading the message ‘Say No to Corruption’ on postal stamps, utility bills, CNIC carrier papers, driving licenses and newspapers of Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Iqra University Dean/ Director Dr Muhammad Islam said that society is being corrupted through financial and intellectual corruption that are different modes of human behaviour.
