Six held for wildlife trafficking

ABBOTTABAD: The Quick Response Team of Abbottabad Wildlife Division apprehended on Monday a total of six offenders involved in illegal wildlife trafficking.
Officials of the Wildlife Department said that the first raid took place at Havelian Interchange, where three offenders from Taxila were arrested red-handed with two kilograms of pangolin scales. Pangolins, one of the world’s most trafficked mammals, are protected under the Wildlife and Biodiversity Act, 2015. In another raid, the Quick Response Team conducted a raid and apprehended three offenders hailing from Hassanabdal who were engaged in the illegal trafficking of cranes.
