Fazl meets Afghan deputy PM
Maulvi Abdul Kabir met Maulana Fazlur Rehman along with members of his cabinet
ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister of Afghanistan Maulvi Abdul Kabir in a meeting with the JUIF chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Sunday said the Afghan government would not allow the use of its soil against Pakistan for any terrorist act.
Maulvi Abdul Kabir met Maulana Fazlur Rehman along with members of his cabinet.
He assured him that Emarat-e-Islami desires relations with all the neighbouring countries, particularly with Pakistan on the basis of mutual respect.
The Afghan deputy PM called for discussing the issues as per realities instead of believing in media claims and reports.
“We assure Maulana Fazlur Rehman and his delegation that we want peace and stability in the region,” a statement issued by the JUIF media cell while quoting Afghan leader said. He demanded necessary facilities for Afghan refugees.
Maulvi Abdul Kabir also thanked Pakistani governments and nation for hosting Afghans and extending good treatment to them.
He expressed the hope that the visit of Maulana Fazlur Rehman would help in strengthening the relationship and removing misunderstandings between the two countries.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman, while maintaining that he would not support extradition of Afghan refugees, said the two countries should talk about cooperation on different issues.
“All the issues should be resolved through talks,” he stressed.
Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Mutaqqi briefed the two sides on economic and security situation of the region.
The Afghan FM welcomed Maulana Fazlur Rehman and his delegation in Afghanistan, expressing the hope that his visit would have a positive impact on the regional situation.
He said Maulana Fazlur would apprise the Pakistan government of Afghan point of view on some important issues.
On the special invitation of Afghan government, Maulana Fazlur Rehman arrived in Kabul on Sunday, the JUIF spokesman in a statement said.
He will hold discussions with Afghan leadership on the regional situation with particular reference to peace in the region.
He is accompanied by Maulana Abdul Wasay, Maulana Salahiddin, Maulana Jamaluddin, Maulana Saleemuddin Shamzai, Maulana Kamaluddin, Maulana Idrees, Maulana Imdadullah and Mufti Abrar
