UET holds 21st convocation
University of Engineering and Technology Taxila is playing an important role in the pursuit of technology education
Rawalpindi : Punjab Governor Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman said that education plays a key role in the development of nations. Today is the age of technology. By advancing in the field of technology, we can progress as a nation. University of Engineering and Technology (UET), Taxila is playing an important role in the pursuit of technology education, says a press release.
He expressed these views while addressing the 21st convocation of University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila.
According to the details, the 21st convocation of BSc graduating degree was held in University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila. In the convocation, Governor Punjab Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman participated as the chief guest. 80 students of Swedish Institute of Technology, 76 students of APCOM and 35 students of Dr. AQ Khan Institute of Computer Sciences and Information Technology were awarded certificates. Governor Punjab distributed medals and certificates among the students.
Addressing the convocation, Governor Punjab Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman said that it is an honour to preside over the convocation. UET Taxila holds a unique and high position in the pursuit of higher education. Today is an important day for the students as well as their parents. Parents and teachers play a constructive role in man’s journey of success. He congratulated the students who graduated from University of Engineering and Technology, Taxila. He said that students are the future of Pakistan. Education plays a key role in the development of nations. Today is the age of technology. By advancing in the field of technology, we can progress as a nation.
University of Engineering and Technology Taxila is playing an important role in the pursuit of technology education. The university has been playing its practical role in the field of education for three decades. The university has valuable services for the pursuit of technology education. He said that online courses are being launched by the university in March, which is a matter of honour. The world is benefiting from online learning. Life is a constant struggle. There are two sides to life, one is bright and hopeful and the other is pessimistic. Our religion teaches that pessimism is a sin. We should always think positive. Hope teaches us to move forward. There are many challenges in life, but they teach us to fight with difficulties. He further said that the role of the university in the field of research is result oriented. Character building with education should be our motto. Youth is the face of the society.
Positive character is the guarantee of success in this world and the hereafter. Technical education and skills training along with positive thinking, selflessness and honesty are very necessary. We have to care for each other. Success is the result of team work. Hatred must be removed and love must be spread. Real success is service to people. We should do good work for people. We should work for our country, family and friends. Today, the entire world is at risk of environmental changes and food shortages. We must all work together to meet these challenges.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Qaiser-ul-Zaman Khan said in his address that BSc engineering is being conducted in ten different departments. Regarding the performance of the university, he said that in the field of engineering and technology, the university is among the advanced universities.
At the end of the convocation, the shield was presented to Governor Punjab. Earlier, Governor Punjab Muhammad Baligh ur Rehman inaugurated the Software Technology Park, Solar Plant and ERP Commercialisation in the university premises.
