NOWSHERA: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-Parliamentarians (PTI) chief Pervez Khattak said on Saturday that his party would defeat its opponents on the election day slated for February 8.
Addressing workers’ conventions at Azakhel Bala and Nowshera Kalan here, he said that those taking turns at the corridors of power would suffer a crushing defeat during the upcoming general election.
“The PMLN, PPP and PTI leaders had deceived the masses on different pretexts to promote their own interests,” he added.
He said that former prime minister Imran Niazi deceived the nation in the name of change and was caught selling state gifts, including expensive watches. He said that the one, who had claimed to end corruption, was the ringleader of all the thieves.
Pervez Khattak said that the Pakistan People’s Party, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders did not honour the pledges made to the people after reaching the corridors of power. He said that he served the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa when he was the chief minister. Pervez Khattak said that he had been in politics for 45 years and knew how to defeat his rivals.
The former defense minister said that his political opponents had become unnerved due to the rising population of his newly formed political party and had started making baseless allegations against him. “Being a seasoned politician, I know the right time to make the right decision,” he remarked.
Pervez Khattak also accused PTI of trying to postpone the election. “The PTI has approached the Lahore High Court and other forums in a bid to postpone the elections,” he claimed.
He said he had served the masses as chief minister and launched several mega projects in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and would win the upcoming elections on the basis of performance.
