CM reviews upgradation of Holy Family Hospital
The CM disclosed that a dual-carriageway will be built in front of the hospital for easy patient access
Rawalpindi:About 68 per cent overall upgradation of Rawalpindi’s 1100-bedded Holy Family Hospital has been completed; the physical progress in the new building is 70 per cent, while the old building has achieved 66 per cent progress, and it will be operationalised by the end of this month, says a press release.
Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi, on Friday, conducted a detailed visit to Holy Family Hospital to assess the progress of the upgradation work. He issued directives for the installation of a hospital information management system, CCTV cameras, activation of the telephone exchange, police chowki and ‘khidmat markaz’ to facilitate the public. He also ordered the commencement of the third shift to expedite construction work.
The CM disclosed that a dual-carriageway will be built in front of the hospital for easy patient access and its lodging facility will be upgraded as well. The hospital will undergo an upgrade to offer the most modern medical facilities. Alongside this, the upgrading of 100 government hospitals was also in progress, he remarked.
The CM was briefed that the reconstruction work would be completed before the deadline as 1,000 workers were working in two shifts. Provincial Minister Mansoor Qadir, IGP, commissioner, RPO and others were present.
The CM also inaugurated the upgraded Saddar (Beroni) and Cantt police stations in Rawalpindi along with the virtual upgrading of 36 more police stations across the province. Waiting rooms for patients have been set up on the premises of both police stations, equipped with comfortable sofas and chairs, creating a conducive environment. A new front desk has been built, and employees are dressed in uniforms, with LCDs to guide the visitors.
Naqvi praised the initiatives for providing the best facilities and said that the beautification of police stations was going on throughout the province. The upgradation of police stations is a significant step towards changing archaic ‘thana culture’ and to instil a sense of security among the citizens, he further said. Provincial Minister Mansoor Qadir, the commissioner, RPO, CPO and DC were also present.
