Lawyers ask PHC to show impartiality
PESHAWAR: The People’s Lawyers Forum, Jamiat Lawyers Forum and Mulgari Wakeelan on Tuesday asked the Peshawar High Court (PHC) to show impartiality and give equal relief to all.
Speaking to the media outside the PHC, the lawyers, including Gohar Rahman Khattak, Jalaluddin Advocate, Ahmad Farooq Khattak and Intikhab Chamkani, said the high court was providing relief to the leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) only.
They condemned the scuffle of the PTI lawyers with the cops deputed at the main gate of the high court, saying that the police were there for our safety. They said the time of the court was being wasted. They complained the high court was giving relief to a certain political party while other people were running from pillar to post to seek justice. They said the court was only hearing cases of political nature. Supporting the Election Commission of Pakistan for its decision declaring the intra-party election of the PTI as null and void, they said the ECP was not heard in the matter.
