LHC orders release of PTI leader Khosa’s son
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday ordered the release of Khuram Latif Khosa, son of prominent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sardar Latif Khosa in a highly publicized police assault case.
Justice Ali Baqir Najafi, presiding over the case, delivered the reserved verdict, freeing Khuram and dismissing the first information report (FIR) filed against him.
Citing insufficient evidence presented by the police, the court’s decision clears Khuram’s name and brings an end to a whirlwind of controversy.
According to reports, police officials informed that an FIR was filed against Khurram Khosa at the Mozang police station in Lahore yesterday at 02:50 pm. The FIR includes charges of terrorism, meddling in state affairs, and robbery. Additionally, unidentified lawyers had also been named in the FIR.
This dramatic legal development comes on the heels of Latif Khosa’s recent foray into PTI politics. The PPP stalwart switched allegiances, citing a desire to serve the nation and uphold democracy under Imran Khan’s leadership.
