Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that the youth are the future of Pakistan, and asked youngsters to step forward for the progress and the development of the country.
The JI Karachi chief expressed these views while addressing a students convention organised at the Shaikh Zaid Islamic Centre of the University of Karachi by the Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) in connection with its 76th anniversary.
Speaking on the occasion, Rehman said that political dynasties and feudal lords have damaged democracy, and exploited the ordinary citizens and the youth. It is the need of the hour to get rid the country of this political elite, he added.
He said that the youth of the country have the ability to bring the country out of the never-ending crises and the evergreen emergency situation. He censured the dictators and the political elite for blocking students unions at educational institutions.
The JI leader said that it is quite illogical that 18-year-old students have the right to vote in order to elect their representatives in the national and provincial assemblies but they cannot choose their representatives at their educational institutions.
He also shed light on the importance of the upcoming general elections, and urged the youth to take part in the polls and help the JI change the “corrupt” system in the country. He also paid rich tributes to the IJT for the services rendered for society.
