KARACHI: Yash Raj Films’ ‘Fan’ starring Shah Rukh Khan hit theatres last Friday. The audience were quite excited for the film as the superstar was all set to be seen in a dual role after ages.

The audiences as well as critics welcomed SRK’s Fan with open arms and called the film one of the best performances by the actor after a huge gap. Fan has already set the box office jingling as the film has made Rs52.35 crore in India and Rs40.05 crore overseas taking the worldwide total to over Rs114 crore during the four days in the opening weekend.

SRK has done a brilliant job as Gaurav Chandna and probably this is one of the most impressive performances by the actor in the recent times. Because his last three films worked purely on marketing strategies and can be imbibed in textbooks as examples of how films shouldn’t be made, even a film as mediocre as ‘Fan’ is being praised by people all around.

The Indian Express wrote that Shah Rukh Khan’s first big film of 2016 Fan has finally released and the man who rocked the show for audience was none other than SRK himself. King Khan was in full flow in his double avatars delighting audience both as Aryan Khanna and Gaurav, more so as the latter which viewers unanimously felt was one of his standout master class performance.

The movie’s sole selling point is undoubtedly SRK and his solid acting performance. Fan is Shah Rukh’s first film to not feature a dance or romantic number. That alone should be proof enough that he has not just reinvented himself as an actor, but this bold step by him to feature in an atypical Bollywood film will greatly encourage young actors and filmmakers to be experimental.

A fan on Twitter asked the Dilwale actor about his son's reaction after watching the film. Shah Rukh Khan said, "Yes he has. He was really enjoying the film and kept on saying So many Papas."

The Raees actor also said that Abram got a little disturbed at the end of the film. "Since the papas were fighting really hard, Abram got really disturbed," said the Chennai Express actor.
