Passerby dies in two groups crossfire

LAHORE:A passerby died and another was injured in an incident of cross-firing between two rival groups in the Manawan area. The deceased person was identified as Haroon and the injured as Yasir.

Reportedly, Ammar and Hamid had an old enmity. After returning from a court hearing, both groups started conflicting with each other. In exchange of fire, two passersby received bullet injuries.

Two robbers held

Model Town Police have arrested two members of a robbery and snatching gang. The arrested suspects identified as Usman Shahid and Uzman lived in a rented flat in A-Block Model Town.

Meanwhile, Shafiqabad Police arrested three members of a robbers gang. The arrested suspects were identified as Abbass, Usman and Dilawar. Police also recovered cash, 13 mobile phones and illegal weapons from their custody.

Two die in two road accidents

Two persons died and four women among six were injured in two road traffic accidents in different parts of the City.

The first incident was reported on Lytton Road where two motorcyclists died near Qartaba Chowk towards LOS when a truck hit a motorcyclist. The victims were identified as Qaisar, 35, and Murtaza, 8, and the injured Gulnaz, 35.

The other incident was reported near Butt Chowk, Township, where a car hit a rickshaw. As a result, five persons identified as Ibrahim, 14, Kashif, 17, Fatima, 29, and Ghafooran Bibi, 55, were injured.

Retired addl sessions judge dies

A retired additional sessions judge died under suspicious circumstances after falling off a rooftop in the Sattokatla area.

The victim Masood Umar Khan was busy in walk in a private housing society at his rooftop. Suddenly, he slipped and fell off the roof into the courtyard of the neighbours and died.
