Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (PPMA) organised a training seminar on risk-based inspection at a local hotel on Monday. Caretaker Provincial Health Minister Prof Dr Javed Akram was the chief guest on this occasion.
Addressing the seminar, Dr Javed Akram said that there is a need for revolutionising the biotechnology sector of Pakistan. For every success, we have to take risks in life. Our patients are most important to and all stakeholders should come forward for the betterment of patients.
He said every pharmacy in Punjab should have a pharmacist and it will take the next 19 years to ensure a pharmacist at every pharmacy. Unfortunately, there is not a single biotechnology plant in Pakistan and there are many unsafe industrial practices in Pakistan, he added. CEO Drugs Regulatory Authority of Pakistan Asim Rauf, Mujahida Mujahid, Qalandar Khan, Mian Misbah-ur-Rehman, Mian Shafiq-ur-Rehman and representatives of various pharmaceutical companies also participated in the seminar.
