Governor for unity to face economic challenges
HARIPUR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Ghulam Ali on Saturday said that the government was committed to improving the national economy by resolving the hardships of the business community that has a pivotal role to play in achieving the target of economic development.
This he said speaking to the members of Board of Governors and executive council of Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), manufacturers and businessmen from different parts of the KP province here. The event was organised at the residence of Syed Safdar Shah, member executive council SAARC Chamber of Commerce.
Syed Safdar Shah had hosted a reception for the KP governor and members of the Businessman panel of the FPCCI at his Alsyed House in Shah Muhammad.
The governor, who is also the general secretary of the Businessman Panel of the FPCCI, said that the prevailing state of the national economy demands from the business community and manufacturers to develop unity in their ranks for the sole national purpose of strengthening the national economy.
“If you want to contribute your energies and resources for making the national economy healthy you have to prove that you are united,” he added. He said that the chamber of commerce at district level and the FPCCI must join hands to strengthen the bonds of unity.
Responding to the demands of speakers, the governor assured his support to the business community as they had a significant role not only in revenue generation for the provincial and national economy but also providing jobs to hundreds of thousands men and women.
About the ongoing elections of FPCCI, Ghulam Ali claimed that the Businessman Panel in the FPCCI would emerge winner from all the provinces in the elections.
He congratulated the unopposed vice president of his panel of the FPCCI from KP Aon Ali Syed.
Businessman Panel Chairman Mian Anjum Nisar, candidates for president Muhammad Ali Sheikh, Senior Vice- President Ghani Usman, newly elected vice-president of FPCCI Aon Ali Syed, Umar Masood Khan, Malik Nazir and others also spoke on the occasion.
