Call to preserve alpine forests in Hazara
MANSEHRA: The mountaineers on Monday urged the government to take effective measures to preserve mountains in Hazara division.
“The government should adopt such measures which could preserve nature as mountains are its jewells,” Sahibzada Jawad Alfaizi, the head of Explore Pakistan, told a ceremony held to mark the International Mountains Day here.
The mountaineers from Mansehra, Abbottabad, Battagram and the rest of the Hazara division showed up at the ceremony and demanded that the government preserve alpine forests from deforestation.“Our country is naturally enriched and we should join hands with the government to maintain its essence and beauty,” Alfaizi said.
Explore Pakistan and Saibaan Development organisation had jointly organised the event.The mountaineers including Mohammad Asif, Niar Shahzad and Mohammad Zahoor also spoke on the occasion.
