KARACHI: The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will meet next week to review the country's economic situation and set the key interest rate for the next two months.
The MPC will convene on Tuesday, December 12, at SBP headquarters in Karachi, the SBP said in a statement on Friday.
The SBP will announce the monetary policy decision through a press release on the same day, the statement added. The MPC kept the policy rate unchanged at 22 percent in its last meeting, citing a stable inflation outlook and a gradual recovery in economic activity. Analysts expect the MPC to maintain the status quo in the upcoming meeting.
