Facilities to Academy of Letters office assured
PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Ghulam Ali has assured to provide necessary facilities to the office of the Academy of Letters so that it could be better utilized for the well-being of academics and promotion of art and culture in the province.
He made the assurance at a meeting with the newly appointed members of the board of governors of the Academy of Letters Prof Dr Gulzar Jalal, who called on him at the Governor’s House on Tuesday.
Dr Gulzar Jalal informed the governor about the functions and services of the academy. He said that the office of the academy in Hayatabad was lacking certain basic facilities due to which it could not be properly utilized for the well-being of poets, academicians and literati.
He said that the office did not have a gas supply line. The governor issued directives to the authorities concerned to ensure early supply of gas to the building. He also directed for provision of necessary crockery and other items for the office.
