Two ‘robbers’ arrested with injuries
SITE Superhighway police arrested an alleged dacoit and absconder wanted in several street crime cases with injuries during a shootout on Monday.
SSP Syed Irfan Ali Bahadur, chief of the District East police, said the police exchanged fire with some suspects in Al Noor Society near Kacha Paka Road.
SSP Bahadur said three suspects were going somewhere with the intention of committing crime, when the police on patrol tried to stop them for checking. The suspects started firing with the intention to kill the police. This led to an exchange of fire, during which a suspect, Rehan, was injured and arrested. He was taken to hospital. The other two were also caught.
Separately, a street criminal was arrested in an injured state in the Quaidabad area after a police encounter. He was identified as Asad, alias Hasan. However, his accomplice escaped on a motorcycle.
