LG rep quits over non-availability of funds
MANSEHRA: Pulrah Village Council Chairman Sajjad Tanoli has tendered his resignation from his office due to non-provision of funds and other privileges by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
“We couldn’t even execute a single development scheme after the passage of almost two years since the Local Government elections were held in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. And people are fed-up with this system in the province,” Sajjad Tanoli told reporters on Saturday.
“I have moved my resignation to the Assistant Director Local government in protest against the denial of rights and funds,” Tanoli said.He added that the successive governments denied development funds and even monthly honourariums to the chairmen and councillors.
Meanwhile, the Local Government Chairmen Ittehad’s General Secretary Basharat Ali Swati said they were fed up with the grassroots level system and seriously mulling a strategy to tender mass resignations. “The chairmen across the district have been holding sessions to tender mass resignations as we are still without due rights and funds,” he said.
