Tribal elders, students from Balochistan visit Senate
ISLAMABAD: A 60-member delegation comprising youth and tribal elders from Balochistan Thursday visited the Parliament House. Senate chairman welcomed the delegation on their visit to Parliament House.
Senate Chairman Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani, while addressing the luncheon ceremony in honour of the delegation, said the youth of Balochistan will get an opportunity to learn from such visits.
Senate chairman congratulated the tribal chiefs for timely resolution of disputes through Jirga in the province: Jirga system plays an important role in timely resolution of disputes in tribal society.
He said that the younger generation of Balochistan should focus on business and master it. The youth of Balochistan have talent and they have an important role to play in the development of business and commercial activities in the province.
Senator Prince Ahmed Omarzai, Senator Haji Hidayatullah Khan, Senator Naseebullah Bazai, Senator Dilawar Khan, Senator Umar Farooq and Senator Bahramand Khan Tangi were also present on the occasion.
The delegation also visited the Senate Museum, where they were shown a documentary based on the history of the Upper House. The delegation expressed interest in the statues and historical photographs of prominent politicians of the country at the Senate Museum. The delegation also visited the Senate Hall where the delegation was given a detailed briefing on the working procedure of the Upper House and legislation.
Meanwhile, a 35-member delegation of the Law Department of the University of Turbat had a visit to the Parliament House, which also met the Senate chairman and discussed the development of Balochistan and the problems faced by the students.
On this occasion, Senate chairman said that the world is changing rapidly now. “If the world is to be competed then business and economy have to be strengthened. Gwadar is the centre of economic activities. Please highlight the positive image of Balochistan and Pakistan for investment in Gwadar,” he urged.
He advised students that along with education, focus on business as it will strengthen the economy. The Upper House, he noted, has always raised its voice for the development of Balochistan and has tried to solve the problems of Balochistan.
Sanjrani said that it should be the aim of all of us to fight for the development of the province, as Balochistan is rich in natural resources and there is a need to work together for the province. He added that the corporate sector should be promoted so that investment comes.
The delegation described the visit to the Upper House as fruitful and said that the purpose of the study visit was to learn about the working of the Upper House, the role and importance of legislation. They also visited the Senate Hall and museum.
