PESHAWAR: Former speaker of the National Assembly and senior leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Asad Qaiser on Saturday submitted a writ petition in the Peshawar High Court seeking details of all the cases registered against him.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader filed the writ petition through his lawyer Syed Sikandar Hayat Shah, Advocate. The provincial government, inspector general of police, director general of National Accountability Bureau, director general of Federal Investigation Agency and director general of Anti-Corruption Establishment were made respondents in the petition.
In the writ petition, Asad Qaiser, who also served as speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly from 2013 to 2018, requested the Peshawar High Court to direct the respondents to provide him details of all the cases registered against him.
His lawyer Syed Sikandar Shah informed the court that as soon as his client got bail in one case, he was arrested in another case.
He said that his client was facing political victimization. Sikandar Shah said that Asad Qaiser had secured bail in two cases registered against him by the Anti-Corruption Establishment while the court had given him relief in another case.
However, he was again arrested by the Anti-Corruption Establishment on charges of embezzling funds in the purchase of equipment for Gajju Khan Medical College.
He requested the court to provide him details of all the cases against him.
