FPCCI hosts Azerbaijan envoy
LAHORE: Azerbaijan is eager to enhance bilateral trade and economic cooperation with Pakistan in various fields, the ambassador of Pakistan to Azerbaijan said on Monday.
Bilal Hayee, who visited the regional office of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) in Lahore, said that Azerbaijan had abolished the duty on importing rice from Pakistan, which is a large market for the commodity.
He also said Pakistani pharmaceutical products had a lot of demand in Azerbaijan and urged exporters to focus on these sectors. Hayee identified agriculture, industry, tourism, mining and hospitality as potential areas of collaboration between the two countries, which enjoy excellent political relations.
FPCCI President Irfan Iqbal Sheikh discussed the matters of enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, technology and exchange of business delegations with the envoy. He said that business-to-business and people-to-people linkages and joint activities would ultimately translate into bilateral trade and economic cooperation.
