Three Khassadar personnel booked
PESHAWAR: The police on Thursday arrested three personnel of the Khassadar Force in an attempted murder case of two traders stated to be Afghan nationals at the Karkhano Market in the city.
A police official said the three Khassadar Force personnel were arrested after they shot and injured two shopkeepers at the Karkhano Market.
The police official said the incident took place in the morning. He said the uniformed Khassadar Force personnel identified as Abdul Qadeer, Abdul Ghani and Nasir opened fire at the traders. Matee and Ismail, at the Karkhano Market located at the boundary of Peshawar and Khyber Agency. Earlier, the Khassadars and the traders had reportedly exchanged hot words while shopping at the market.
The traders sustained injuries and were shifted to the Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC). A police officer said the traders hailed from Afghanistan and were currently living in the Shakas area of the Jamrud tehsil in Khyber Agency. He said the Afghan nationals were running electronics business at the Karkhano Market.
He confirmed that the accused Khassadar Force personnel came in official uniform and opened fire at the traders. The police official said the accused were arrested along with weapons.
