MQM-P to be always with Pakhtuns, says Khalid Maqbool
If the Pakhtun community in Karachi is targeted for any reason, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) will stand by them.
MQM-P Convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui said this on Saturday as he addressed a public meeting of the party in the Saeedabad area of Baldia Town. He said that only the two classes of oppressor and oppressed existed in the country today and the MQM-P stood against the former to protect the latter.
He told the public meeting that the MQM-P had not come to Baldia Town to win the elections but to win the hearts of its people. He said the party would field former mayor Mustafa Kamal in Baldia Town in the general elections and hopefully, he would win with a majority. He said Kamal was the MQM-P’s identity and the party was giving him to the people of Baldia Town.
If the MQM-P succeeded in the fight against oppression, Pakistan would succeed, Dr Siddiqui said. He added that Karachi was the face of the entire Pakistan, and only love and brotherhood prevailed in the city.
He said the time of joy had begun for the residents of Karachi, who included Muhajir, Baloch, Sindhi, Pashtun and people of other ethnicities. He maintained that the MQM-P would stand with the poor and send them to the assemblies.
