51pc complaints of overseas Pakistanis’ resolved
LAHORE
Commissioner, Overseas Pakistanis Commission Punjab, Afzaal Bhatti has said that the commission has received more than 2,800 complaints of overseas Pakistanis so far, out of which 51 percent have been redressed.
He was talking to a gathering of overseas Pakistanis living in Medina Munawara (Saudi Arabia). Vice-Chairman, Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Punjab, Capt (R) Khalid Shaheen Butt, and Additional Director General/DIG Ahmed Mobin were also present on this occasion. Afzaal Bhatti told that OPC Punjab had developed a modern and effective system where all the complaints were referred to the departments concerned and were monitored electronically. Vice-Chairman OPC, Capt (R) Shaheen Butt said that overseas Pakistanis were playing a key role in strengthening national economy. He said that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had constituted OPC Punjab for resolving the problems of overseas Pakistanis on priority basis. He said that government had great respect for those who were improving the image of the country through their hard work abroad. He said that overseas Pakistanis could contact OPC Punjab to redress their complaints. President PML-N Saudi Arabia Mirza Altaf and representatives of other political parties were also present on this occasion.
UVAS: University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) spring festival 2016 concluded with floral, decoration, drama and debate competitions here on Friday. Dean Faculty of Life Sciences Business Management Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad chaired the concluding ceremony in the evening and distributed trophies among overall winners of the spring festival contests.
UVAS Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (IPS) won overall first position, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) secured second while Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition won the third position. In Fresh Flowers, Paper Flowers, Dough Dry and Dry Flowers contest, Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) and Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (IPS) won the first position.
workshop: Punjab Healthcare Commission’s three-day workshop on the implementation of minimum service delivery standards in public and private hospitals and healthcare establishments concluded here on Friday. Twenty doctors, paramedical and management staff from districts Lahore, Faisalabad, Muzaffargarh and Gujrat attended the training workshop. The participants were trained in the areas of care of patient, management of medication, patient rights and education, hospital infection control, continuous quality improvement, and human resource management etc. Seniors doctors and health experts from Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) imparted training in these areas.
