LAHORE: Electronic I-Form will play a significant role in promoting trade and economic activities in the country, as it would help the business community to get their import-related jobs done quite easily.

These views were expressed by State Bank of Pakistan Director Fazal Mahmood, LCCI Vice President Nasir Saeed, Additional Director Reforms & Automation Abdul Haye Sheikh, Collector Customs Zulfiqar Younas and former LCCI Vice President Aftab Ahmed Vohra, while speaking at the Orientation on “Electronic I-Form (EIF) Module” at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Mahmood said that Electronic I-Form will promote paperless economy and provide facilities to the businessmen who are playing laudable role for economic uplift of the country.

He said that the Electronic I-Form will save precious time of importers and they would be able to do their work, while sitting at their places.

Saeed said that the purpose of the orientation session is to educate the representatives of the private sector about the Electronic I-Form Module, which is going to be launched shortly by the Directorate of Reforms & Automation.  It is the need of the hour to make full use of information technology, as it not only ensures transparency, but also guarantees process simplification and efficiency enhancement for all the stakeholders, he said.
