SUKKUR: Elected legislators, including those of Pakistan People’s Party, are involved in land grabbing and misappropriation of development funds, local PPPP leaders Agha Saifullah Pathan, Lala Asif Pathan and others told the media at a press conference in Sukkur Press Club on Sunday.
They alleged that the present leaders of the PPP believe in promoting corruption and are engaged in land-grabbing. They said owing to bad governance, the party’s position has been badly affected in the province, but Asif Ali Zardari and CM Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, instead of discouraging such legislators and party leaders, were protecting them.
They said some elected representatives had turned into mafias of plots and land grabbers. They informed that the said mafia even grabbed plots out of the civilisation heritage of Sukkur at Lakhan Jo Daro.
They vowed to wake up the CM Sindh and Asif Ali Zardari from slumber. They said the workers of the party are confused and are at the mercy of the mafias. They reiterated upon Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to hold a workers’ convention in Sukkur and hold accountability of legislators.
They said due to the wrong policies, the party’s position in Punjab, KP, Balochistan has been lost while in Sindh the party was facing a tough time. They said genuine PPP workers were being ignored and if no attention was paid, there would be divisions in the party in Sindh.
