Lahore Zoo budget approved
LAHORE
The management committee of Lahore Zoo has approved Rs180 million budget for 2016-17.
The proposed budget will be sent to Secretary Wildlife Punjab for final approval.
This was decided in a meeting of the committee presided over by Director General Wildlife & Parks Punjab and Chairman Lahore Zoo Management Committee, Khalid Ayaz Khan.
Members of the committee In-charge Pet Center University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences Lahore Dr. Asim Khalid, Director Lahore Zoo Shafqat Ali, Chairman Zoology Department University of Punjab Prof. Dr. Javed Iqbal Qazi, Deputy Director Livestock & Dairy Development Department Dr. Syed Abbas Ali, Section Officer Wildlife Ayaz Ilyas, former DG Wildlife Dr. Abdul Aleem Khan, Dr. Rifat Salman Butt, Musleh-ud-Din Ahmed Khan, Chairperson Botany Department Lahore College for Women University Prof. Dr. Farah Khan and Ms. Roheen Rafique attended the meeting.
The DG Wildlife said that further sources of income should also be explored rather than depending on gate income of Lahore Zoo and multinational companies should be contacted for the purpose.
Khalid Ayaz Khan said that matters of zoos of developed countries of the world were being discussed and on the pattern, the management of Lahore Zoo would be ensured.
