Security up for worship places, police installations
MARDAN: The district police have tightened security at worship places of minorities and is also upgrading security measures at check-posts and police stations.
A police spokesman said that on the directive of Regional Police Officer Muhammad Suleman and DPO Najibur Rehman Bugvi, the SP Rokhan Zeb visited Sarhadi Church, Catholic Church and Evangelical Church and went round various locations of the worship places.
The police spokesman instructed the cops to be alert and keep an eye on suspicious people near the venues.
Meanwhile, the district police started a drive to upgrade facilities at police stations and check-posts.
The spokesman said that DPO had directed the cops to ensure CCTV cameras, and also wearing bulletproof jackets and helmets in duty timings.
