Pak High Commission seeking details of detained nationals

JAISALMER: At least 35 Pakistani nationals, including women and children, have been held by the Rajasthan police in Ramdevra district on the charge of incomplete documentation.

The Pakistani nationals, who entered India through the Thar Desert via Munabao, have a visa for Mathura and Haridwar but not for Ramdevra. These people were planning to visit the Baba Ramdev Temple where the Samadhi of Baba Ramdev stands, the Indian media reported.

It is reported that these people belong to Umarkot, Mirpur Khas and Tharparkar in Sindh province.

Kushal Chandra, SHO of Ramdevra, said the higher authorities had been informed about the incident and action will be taken as per instructions.

A joint interrogation would be conducted today.

The arrests took place a day after Pakistan protested to India after capturing an operative of the Indian intelligence agency RAW identified as Kulbushan Yadav. The incident sparked a new diplomatic tiff between the neighbours.

Yadav was arrested during a raid in the southwestern province of Balochistan.

The Pakistan High Commission said they were obtaining the details of the detained Pakistani nationals.
