Two cops gunned down in DI Khan
DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Unidentified assailants gunned down two policemen on the Dera-Bannu Road here on Wednesday, police sources said.
They said the cops, Muhammad Imran and Muhammad Faisal, were on the way to perform security duty at the Cattle and Horse Show when the gunmen sprayed them with bullets near the Agriculture Workshop on the Dera-Bannu Road.
Muhammad Imran was killed on the spot while Muhammad Faisal sustained critical injuries and was taken to the Civil Hospital in the city where he succumbed to his injuries.The police launched search operation in various areas after the incident
The incidents of targetted killings have increased in the Dera Ismail Khan in recent days. A prominent lawyer Raziul Hassan Shah was killed a day earlier. He was reportedly the caretaker of the Thalla Lal Shah shrine in the city.Also, Asghar Hussain, the in-charge of the Mufti Mehmood Hospital’s reporting centre, was also killed by unidentified persons last week.
