Cop shot dead in Dera Ismail Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Unidentified assailants targetted and killed a cop on the Dera-Draban Road here on Saturday.
It was learnt that 48-year-old Azhar Hussain, son of Nazar Hussain, a resident of Mauryali, was proceeding on his motorcycle for duty at the Reporting Centre of the Mufti Mahmood Hospital.
“Two men riding a bike opened fire at the cop in Lachra Adda and he died on the spot,” said the eye-witnesses.
The assailants fled the scene on the motorcycle after committing the crime.
The police reached the spot and ringed the area. The body was shifted to the hospital for postmortem. The funeral prayer for the slain cop was offered at the Police Line.
The police registered a case and launched investigation.
