LAHORE
The Jamaat-i-Islami staged demonstrations in the city on Friday to condemn the black warrant issued for JI Bangladesh ameer Maulana Matiur Rehman Nizami for resisting the separation of Bangladesh from Pakistan, and what they called criminal silence of the Pakistani government over a series of executions of Islamist leaders who tried to protect Pakistan’s integrity against secessionists.
The demonstrations were held in different places like Masjid shuhada, Wahdat Road, GT Road and Lytton Road, but the largest was staged on Multan Road outside Mansoorah where JI secretary general Liaqat Baloch, Hafiz Idris, Zikrullah Mujahid and others addressed the charged workers.
