Students visit PSB Rehabilitation Wing

An educational tour to the Rehabilitation & Treatment Wing, Pakistan Sports Board, Islamabad was organised by the Institute of Health & Management Sciences, Islamabad. During the tour, the physiotherapy students visited various laboratories and observed various equipments, which is used for the physical training as well as rehabilitation of sportsmen.
On this occasion, the Deputy Director General (Rehabilitation & Treatment Wing), Dr. Waqar Ahmed, asserted that physical therapy is the most important allied health discipline in the world of today. He also mentioned that educational tours like this are a great opportunity for students to expose themselves to the latest technology and equipment used in this field. He also appreciated the efforts of the Institute of Health & Management Sciences, Islamabad in this regard.
Institute of Health & Management Sciences Chairman Dr. Muhammad Usman Khan in his address mentioned that the sole focus of the Institute is to promote the field of public health and rehabilitation sciences. He also said that the institute has conducted various such activities in the past which has definitely impacted the masses at large. He said that the Institute will continue to strive hard in this direction so that eminent physical therapists can be produced which will eventually serve the community for their better.
Dr. Muhammad Usman Khan also presented an honorary shield to Dr. Waqar Ahmed and thanked him for his continuous support. The Chairman also presented shields to various faculty members including Ms. Maimona, Dr. Junaid Malik, Dr. Rizmi Naser, Mr. Yaseen, and Mr. Habib Khan. Around 50 participants including the physical therapy students participated in this educational tour.
The Institute of Health & Management Sciences, Green Avenue, Park road, Islamabad affiliated with Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University, Islamabad runs five years, undergraduate programme of Doctor of Physical Therapy as well as two years, Master of Science in public health programme.
