Nisar decries linking his note praising Zardari on 18th Amend to anti-army statement
ISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan on Saturday said that it was not right to link his praise for Asif Ali Zardari on the passage of the 18th Amendment with his anti-army statement.
He said that he always reacted to the anti-army statements of former president Asif Ali Zardari.
The minister said that the note written at the concluding ceremony of the All Parties Conference (APC) on military courts belonged to him but linking the note with Zardari’s anti-army statements was not appropriate, he added.
He said that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) were against constitutional amendments to military courts but Asif Ali Zardari played an important role in breaking this deadlock.
He said he had never supported his statements against the Pakistan Army. Earlier a private television channel’s journalist had linked Nisar’s note with Zardari’s statements that had enraged the federal minister.
