KARACHI: Presenting his analysis in the program on Tuesday, Shahzeb Khanzada said Shahbaz Taseer, the abducted son of former governor Punjab Salman Taseer, has been recovered from Kuchlak after four and a half years.

It was stated today that sensitive agencies, home ministry Punjab and the FC, carried out successful operation in Kuchlak and recovered Shahbaz Taseer.  Neither his abductors were arrested nor there report of the death or injury to anyone. At the same there is also a report that Shahbaz Taseer himself walked into a hotel in Kuchlak, had his meals there and paid the bill of Rs350. He sought permission from the hotel owner, which he refused and later he called his mother on telephone and informed her of his presence in Kuchlak. His mother immediately contacted the law-enforcing agency, after which the law-enforcers reached Shahbaz Taseer.

Shahzeb Khanzada said there appears the connivance of different networks of terrorists. Shahzeb Khanzada said the links of Shahbaz Taseer’s recovery also reach to attack on Karachi airport on June 8, 2014 and attack on Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore. Sources said Shahbaz Taseer was allegedly kidnapped by a student of the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore. The degree holder student of the university was the leader of Osman Group. The kidnappers had not shifted Shahbaz Taseer out of Lahore immediately but had allegedly kept him in Velentia Housing Society of Lahore and then shifted him out of Lahore after some days.  A mobile phone was recovered from the place of Shahbaz Taseer’s abduction. This phone helped in some arrests. It was the success of the law-enforcing agencies that they managed to arrest Osman Bisra. Osman had shifted Shahbaz to his tribal area along with Warren Wanstein of the US Aid.

Shahzeb Khanzada further said Shahbaz Taseer, after abducting him from Lahore, was transferred to the banned Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, which was also involved in the attack on the Karachi airport. A call from the phone of the attackers of the Karachi airport was made to a mobile phone of Bannu. Later when security agencies investigated the data of the Bannu mobile, it indicated that a call from the same phone was also made to a landline number of Lahore, which was installed at Salman Taseer’s house. Shahbaz Taseer was allowed to talk to his family. This led to the disclosure that it was a network of terrorists, operating in connivance with each other.

Speaking on the situation of Karachi, Shahzeb Khanzada said the Muttahida Qaumi Movement has announced a ‘Clean Karachi’ campaign, which shows that Muttahida was vibrant. In his press conference today Farooq Sattar, while speaking in his dual-pronged statement, taunted at Mustafa Kamal and Dr Sagheer. Dr Sagheer said it could also mean a threat.

Analysing further Shahzeb Khanzada said the criticism of the Supreme Court during Karachi Law and Order case on Sindh Police is actually targeted at the Sindh government. The Sindh government needs to consider its attitude. The operation for enforcing peace in Karachi is continuing for the last two and a half years, but there appears no cooperation between the security agencies. The statement of Rangers in Law and Order case of Karachi and the reply of Karachi police depict the two institutions are on confrontation mode.

Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali, while hearing Karachi Law and Order case, directed federation, Sindh government and all other stakeholders to address to the Rangers’ reservations in Karachi. During the hearing of the case Justice Ameer Hani Muslim told the IG Sindh that his report is just a piece of paper, which contains nothing else but statistics. “It appears that you do not want to disclose anything,” he told the IG.

Analysing the participation of Pakistan in T-20 World Cup, Shahzeb Khanzada said the departure of Pakistan Cricket Team tomorrow to India has been stopped. Will the Shaheens go to India or not, in which ground they will play and in which not would be decided by Prime Minister after considering report of the Security Review Committee.

Speaking on the World Women’s Day, observed today, Shahzeb Khanzada said Pakistani women making achievements all over the world but were deprived of their rights in their own country. There are loud voices for legislation than on cruelty against women. Such example was witnessed in the Punjab Assembly recently.

Leader of People’s Party Saeed Ghani said it is the responsibility of the Sindh government to observe and correct them if the performance of any institution working in Sindh is criticised. He said the media and institutions are particularly criticising Sindh. He said the Karachi Law and Order case is continuing for the last five years. Sindh is the only province on which is under judicial observation. There are many powers which chief ministers of other provinces can perform but the Sindh chief minister is deprived of that authority. He said the Sindh chief minister has no powers of allotment of land. He said the Rangers and Police have both rendered sacrifices for improving law and order of the city.  He pointed out that the ratio of crime is more in Punjab than in Sindh. There were no big incidents of terrorism in Sindh during the last few years.

Former test cricketer Shoaib Akhtar said the Pakistani team should not be afraid of India while playing there. The national team should not be under pressure in the T-20 World Cup considering the ground code and concentrate on performance. The defeat of the national team in the Asia Cup was also because of bad wicket, Shoaib Akhtar pointed out and observed that our batting fails on difficult wickets. Our team, after playing on difficult wickets of Bangladesh will display good performance on better wicket of India. The sky would not fall if we lose against India.

Shahid Afridi is a good choice and should be allowed to play as captain. He said the bad performance of the Pakistani team gives more pain to the Indians, who say they had seen the Pakistani players performing like lions. The Pakistani team is now gone on back foot, which is not good for World Cup cricket.

Delivering good performance is not only good for playing with India but also for playing the World Cup.
