‘CPEC a massive opportunity for Pakistan’

Speakers at a seminar emphasised the importance of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and stressed that it was imperative to ensure that maximum benefits were reaped from the mega project.
The seminar titled ‘The CPEC: Opportunities, Issues and Solutions” was organised by the Khadim Ali Shah Bukhari Institute of Technology (KASBIT) at its campus on Saturday.
Asghar Aziz Sanjarani, former president & CEO of the Gawadar Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Prof Muhammad Rais Alvi, director KASBIT, economist Aftab Ahmed Abro and journalist Hanif Dilmurad were among the key speakers.
A number of faculty members and students attended the seminar and shared their views on the issue.
Speakers said the mega project would transform Pakistan into a regional economic hub as well as further boost the growing ties between Pakistan and China.
Abro briefly described the importance of the corridors for the economic and social development of any nation and country.
Giving examples of the Silk Road and GT Road, he said it had to be analysed that how more and more opportunities could be created from the massive investment in the region.
Sanjrani discussed benefits of the corridor and shared details of the components and areas of interest of the corridor.
