PML-N, PTI gave tickets to turncoats: Gilani
NA-153 by-polls
MULTAN: Former prime minister Yusuf Raza Gilani has said that the PPP has devised a strategy for NA-153 by-polls and the party workers are fully involved in electioneering. Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, he said that PPP candidate Malik Akram Kanhun belonged to the working class and the entire party cadre was working for his victory.
Criticising the other political parties, Gilani said that some parties had given tickets to the turncoats for by-elections. He said that the PML-N had issued ticket to PPP former Multan division president Rana Qasim Noon and the PTI to a PPP former ticket holder. He congratulated Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy on winning the Oscar award for the second time.
Speaking on the occasion, PPP south Punjab president Makhdoom Ahmad Mehmood criticised the Punjab government. He alleged that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had no concern with masses. He further alleged that the development budget of south Punjab remote districts had been transferred to the Lahore orange line train project.
