Seven die in Khuzdar explosion
KHUZDAR: Seven people, including three women and two children, were killed and more than 12 injured as explosives kept for mining purposes at a house exploded in the Garook Khat Chak area of Naal Tehsil on Wednesday night.
The Deputy Commissioner of Khuzdar, Sarmad Saleem Akram, said that the explosives for mining purposes went off at the house, causing a fire which engulfed the nearby makeshift huts.
As a result, seven people died on the spot and over 12 received critical burn wounds, he added.The dead and injured were shifted to the Civil Hospital in Naal by private and Levies’ vehicles.
According to the doctors, six of the injured whose condition was stated to be critical were referred to Karachi.Others were shifted to the Civil Hospital in Khuzdar. The dead and injured were close relatives.The deputy commissioner has directed the Levies force to conduct an investigation into the incident.
