Cold calls
By our correspondents
February 25, 2016
Recently, I received a call on my cell phone only to find it was a cold call, offering me Rs500,000, which the man behind the voice claimed I won in a lucky draw. I was astonished at the claim for I didn’t even know of such a draw.
When I called the cellular company to lodge my complaint, I noticed that the company was reluctant to block the number or take action against the person using their company’s SIM card. The PTA is requested to pay attention to these fraudulent practices and ask cellular companies to block the SIMs of such callers.
