8 booked over poisoning cattle

OKARA: Police booked a gang of eight people who poisoned cattle to get meat and hides of the dead cattle.
Akram, Sultan and their accomplices of Chak 50/D allegedly used to inoculate poisonous drugs and administer such pills to cattle in the village to sell their hides and dead meat on cheaper rates.
Niaz Ahmad and some other villagers exposed their evil practice and the Depalpur sadr police registered a case against the accused.
DRUG PEDDLERS ARRESTED: Police Monday booked six drug peddlers.
On a tip-off, the Gogera police arrested Muhammad Faiz of 24/GD with 570 gram charas, Ghulam Ali of 36/GD with 140 gram charas and Israr of Fatuana with 260 gram charas.
Drug peddler Abdul Hafeez fled after seeing the police and left 1,520 gram charas behind.
The Hujra Shah Moqeem police arrested one Fayaz Ahmad of Ibrahim village with 765 gram charas and Shahzad Waheed of Ahmadabad with 30 litres liquor.
