Kate Middleton is set to miss the traditional rehearsal for the upcoming King Charles’ birthday parade, next month.
According to reports, Kensington Palace announced a replacement for the Princess of Wales to carr y out the role of Inspecting Officer at Trooping teh Colour Colonel review on June 8, Saturday.
Lieutenant General James Bucknall will carry out the review as Colonel of the Coldstream Guards instead of the future Queen, who would have taken the salute as Colonel in Chief of the Irish Guards.
It comes while palace remains mum about Kate’s attendance at the event as she remains away from the public eye in the wake of her cancer treatment.
Meanwhile, the British Army only confirmed King Charles’ plans earlier this week to suit his current health conditon.
In a major break away from tradition, the cancer-stricken monarch will travel by carriage instead of on horseback for the military spectacle.
As for Prince William and the kids, GB News’ royal correspondent Cameron Walker and digital Royal editor Svar Nanan-Sen reflected on the possibility of their attendance.
“I think it would be nice to see the royal children on that balcony because it has been a pretty tough six months for the Royal Family and I think the British public would really appreciate seeing them.
“But it is clearly up to William and Catherine- they are very young children and if it is too much for them with the princess’s condition I suspect the British public won’t be too upset," said Cameron.
