Sean "Diddy" Combs reportedly paid the hotel to get his hands on the footage in which he was assaulting Casandra "Cassie" Ventura, however, he did not know that a copy was sent to the victim as well.
People reported on Tuesday, May 22, that the rapper’s former bodyguard, Roger Bonds, appeared on Piers Morgan's Uncensored show to discuss the scenario and shed light on Diddy’s apology.
"He knew those cameras were there, you know?" Bonds revealed. "But of course, as we heard, he came back to the hotel, and he paid to get the footage — but didn’t know, which Cassie said inside her complaint, that they gave her a copy of the footage also."
Reflecting on the 54-year-old music producer’s apology that he issued after CNN released the 2016 surveillance footage on Friday, May 17, Bonds added, "When you go through life just paying your way out, I really feel like he wasn’t sorry about that."
"Yeah, he might be sorry now. He’s sorry that he got caught," he continued.
"If that was a one time incident, then I would say accept his apology. But I think, in that apology, he said what he thought people wanted to hear," Diddy’s former head of security shared his viewpoint on the music mogul’s recent apology.
The Bad Boy Records founder’s apology came on Sunday, May 19, via a video posted on Instagram with a caption, "I'm truly sorry."
In the video he took "full responsibility" for his "inexcusable" behavior before ending the video saying he is not seeking forgiveness.
