Call for justice
By our correspondents

Justice delayed is justice denied. This famous maxim supports the case of Mazhar Farooq. Twenty four years ago, Farooq was charged with murder. A few days ago, ‘the justice system’ of Pakistan declared him innocent.
Farooq has served his sentence without even committing a crime. Although the Supreme Court has now acquitted him of the murder charge, twenty-four years of this man have been spent in prison. Who is responsible for this injustice? There are numerous cases where innocent people are arrested without any solid evidence against them. Keeping in view all these facts, it is time the government looked into the matter and freed innocent people.
