UK General hails efforts by Pak Army for peace in region
RAWALPINDI: Chief of General Staff (CGS) of the UK Army General Sir Nicholas Patrick Carter on Wednesday acknowledged that the sacrifices and achievements of Pakistan Army in the fight against terrorism and efforts for bringing peace and stability in the region.
According to an Inter-Services Public Ralations (ISPR) press release, the visiting dignitary called on Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif at the General Headquarters (GHQ). During the meeting, regional security issues and matters of mutual interest were discussed.Earlier, on arrival at the GHQ, CGS UK Army laid a wreath at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada. A smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Army presented a guard of honour to the guest.
General Sir Nicholas Patrick Carter also visited Miran Shah, North Waziristan Agency. The formation commander briefed the CGS, UK Army, about the environment in the agency, return of TDPs and development projects undertaken by the army.
