South Korean embassy celebrates National Foundation Day

The guests at the reception hosted by ambassador Such Dong-gu of South Korea on Tuesday evening had candid discussion about the upcoming political scenario in the country and expressed the fear that PTI showdown with the administration could prove to be bloody and may produce unexpected outcome.

The South Korea ambassador hosted the reception to commemorate National Foundation Day and Armed Forces Day of his country. Since it was maiden reception by the new envoy, the guests availing the opportunity to have introduction with him. The diplomats attending the reception were inquisitive about the events that could be unfolded in the wake of the PTI call for locking down of the federal capital. They wanted to learn precisely what could be magnitude of the ‘invasion’ of the PTI.

Chinese ambassador Sun didn’t turn up in the reception that had meeting with PTI chief earlier in the day and discussed with him various subjects of mutual interest including China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The guests disapproved the adventure of Imran Khan by saying that it would be detrimental to the interest of Pakistan. It could damage the image of Pakistan beyond the imagination. The country is being thrown in the quagmire of the instability that after a great difficulty trying to stand up on its own feet.

Ambassador Such Dong-gu in his address talked about strengthening of ties with the Pakistan. Federal Minister Ghulam Murtaza Khan Jatoi was the chief guest while Mayor Islamabad Sheikh Ansar Aziz, former chairman Senate Wasim Sajjad, former Naval Chief Admiral Adul Aziz Mirza, federal ministers Sardar Muhammad Yousaf Khan, Engineer Baleeghur Rehman and PTI central leader and former interior minister Dr. Wasim Shehzad were also present in the reception where traditional Korean dance was displayed. The guests enjoyed the reception thoroughly since it was arranged by the ambassador at his residence in the Diplomatic Enclave.
