Woman, minor killed in accident

LAHORE

A woman and her eight-month baby were killed while her husband received injuries when a speeding car collided with a bike in the Kahna police limits on Wednesday. 

Police removed the body to morgue for autopsy while the car driver fled the scene. The victim has been identified as Safina Bibi. The family members were on their way on a bike when near Elite Town a speeding car hit them. As a result, Safina and her child died on the spot while her husband Jameel received injuries. Police have registered a case. 

SUICIDE: A 16-year-old boy committed suicide after being admonished by his mother in the Shahdra Town police limits. Police removed the body to morgue for autopsy. The victim has been identified as Asad of Jameel Park. On the day of incident, he got dejected when his mother admonished him. He locked himself in a room and committed suicide by hanging himself from ceiling. 

ARRESTED: Punjab Highway Patrol arrested 19 criminals including six proclaimed offenders.

PHP teams arrested POs Maani, Umar, Jahangir, Ahmad Yar, Allah Nawaz and Sajid and handed them over to the police. PHP teams recovered 45-litre wine, 1,337 gram chars, 4 pistols, 13 bullets and 2 cartages after arresting 13 criminals M Sadiq, M Shahbaz, M Akram, Umar Rasheed, Sheera, Afzal, Lal, M Munir, M Asghar, M Aslam, Zafar Hussain, Wajid, M Yusuf and Sajid Ali. 

SUSPENDED: CCPO Amin Wains has suspended Constable Naveed Iqbal and ordered a departmental inquiry against him for not vacating the house of an overseas Pakistani in the stipulated time. The CCPO ordered him to vacate the house without any delay. He issued these orders while chairing a meeting of Overseas Pakistanis Commission.

SSP Investigations Hassan Mushtaq Sukhera, ADC Tahir Farooq, Revenue Officer Ayub Bhatti and an officer of OPC participated in the meeting. At least 33 applications were put in the meeting related to different disputes of Overseas Pakistanis. The CCPO listened to the complaints and ordered resolving the issues without any delay. Muhammad Shaheen had rented out his house to Constable Naveed Iqbal but he was not vacating it within the given time. CCPO suspended him and ordered DSP Sabzazar to present him in the next meeting. He ordered to register a case against Abdul Rehman on embezzling the amount of Overseas Pakistani Shakeel Paracha.
