Things are fast moving towards the resolution of the issue over payment of salary to the Federal Directorate of Education daily-wage teachers for the days they were on strike.

On January 28, such teachers attached with the government educational institutions functioning in the Islamabad Capital Territory resumed duty after boycotting the duty for more than a month against the non-payment of salary and for regularisation of services.

However, they complained about denial of the salary for strike days.

Afterwards, principals of model colleges formally asked the FDE director concerned for advice on the matter.

The Capital Administration and Development Division oversees the FDE, which regulates ICT government schools.

In the latest development, three representatives of daily wagers including Ehsan Bangash, Ehsan Sikandri and Fahad Miraj met the CADD secretary on the issue.

The secretary assured the delegation that the issue on the payment of the salary for the months of November, December and January to the FDE daily wagers would be resolved in two to three days.

He said the FDE had moved the salary file to the CADD and that was on the table of the joint secretary, who was on leave.

The secretary said the moment the file reached him, he would approve it.

The daily wagers insisted they went on strike to claim own rights and therefore, the salary for strike days should be paid to them in full.
