LG reps in Bannu seek fund, powers
BANNU: Representatives of the Bannu district government on Saturday protested against the government for not giving them fund and powers and also announced to stage sit-in outside the Chief Minister’s House tomorrow (Monday).
Led by Said Alam Khan, Muhammad Islam and Malik Shah Zeb, the protesting nazims, naib nazims, youth, kissan and general councillors chanted slogans against the government. Carrying banners and placards, they marched through various bazaars and gathered outside the Bannu Press Club.
Speaking on the occasion, they said that despite the lapse of eight months, the government did not provide them funds.
“The elected district representatives cannot honour their electoral pledges due to lack of funds,” Said Alam said, adding that councillors were facing problems.
