Precautionary measures to combat HIV/Aids urged
NAWABSHAH: Additional Deputy Commissioner Khursheed Alam on Tuesday said that the HIV infection, which causes AIDS, is a critical infection, but it could be averted if precautionary measures are adopted.
He was addressing the District Aids Task Force Committee formed to create an awareness among the people about the disease. The meeting was attended by District Health Officer Dr Bahadur Khan Khero, District Education Officer Ghulam Ali Birhamani, DSP Piyaro Khan Jamali, President of Nawabshah Press Club Muhammad Anwar Shaikh, and officials of health, information and other departments.
The DHO, while briefing the meeting, said that AIDS was transmitted from one person to another and awareness in this regard was necessary to be communicated to the common man.
