Man dies after falling from train

LAHORE

A 32-year-old man died after falling from a moving train in the Kot Lakhpat police limits on Saturday.

Police said victim identified as Shahzad was going on train. As the train reached near Kot Lakhpat Railway Station, his foot slipped and he fell down. As a result, he received fatal injuries and died on the spot.

Police removed the body to morgue for autopsy, collected forensic evidences from crime scene and registered the statements of eyewitnesses.

Police were investigating the matter further.  

Found dead: A 35-year-old unidentified man was found dead in the Badami Bagh police limits on Saturday.

Police have removed the body to morgue for autopsy.

A passerby informed the police about a man lying unconscious. Police reached the place. They shifted the victim to a nearby hospital where doctors pronounced him as brought dead.

Police told The News that the victim looked like a drug-addict and might have died due to excessive use of drugs. However, autopsy will help ascertain the cause of death. 

Police were searching for the family of the deceased.

traffic violators: The City Traffic Police got registered 4,250 cases against encroachment and wrong parking during the ongoing crackdown on such violators in the provincial metropolis.

According to a handout, the CTO directed Sector In-charges to make crackdown further effective by monitoring action personally.

He also directed them to issue warning notices to encroachment and wrong parking doers. In case they don’t stop doing violations, strict action should be taken against them without any discrimination.

welfare bodies: The SP Security said three welfare committees had been constituted at DIG Operations’ office to monitor all matters pertaining to the office and facilitate the complainants and officials.

While addressing the heads of the said committees, he said these three committees would check food quality at canteen, ensure cleanliness of office and facilitate people and officials carrying complaints and grievances.

Two burn: Two persons including a woman received burns when a fire broke out in a house in Johar Town on Saturday.

Te cause of fire was said to be short circuit. Upon being informed, the firefighters rushed to the house in D-II Block Johar Town and extinguished fire. Two persons including a woman, who had sustained burns in the incident, were rushed to a local hospital where their condition was said to be out of danger.

Meanwhile, a car caught fire when its overheated radiator exploded on Canal Road. The car riders escaped unhurt. 

reunited: Bhatti Gate police reunited a four-year-old missing girl with her parents on Saturday.

Some police officials spotted a girl who was later identified as Taiyaba crying in Taxali Park. They took her to police station. Police traced girl’s parents and handed her over to them.   

Two held: The Mughalpura Investigation police arrested two persons and recovered a decapitated body of a youth who went missing some days back.

Victim Taimour went missing some days back. Victim was beheaded by accused Shoaib Dogar and his accomplice. The body was thrown into an open nullah in Ferozwattan, Nankana Sahab. 

Police recovered victim’s body from the said nullah.
